Is It Possible To Televise Adventure Racing Events?

By Rob Sutter

Many individuals take part in adventure racing and there are reasons for this. Like any physical event that calls for a great deal of energy, people seem to love the feeling of adrenaline coursing through their bodies. Only then can they go about the actions they always want to and not care about whatever limitations that their bodies may have. It certainly sounds like a strong premise but is it one that could potentially make its way onto television on a basis which is more prominent?

Keep in mind that there many sports on television which cater to different interests. Personally, I was never a fan of watching golf on TV, as I would much rather play it than watch others go about it. However, I understand that there are those who enjoy it and I cannot say that there isn't an audience for it, either. What I am saying, though, is that people typically want something with more activity; this one has more than fit the bill, in my eyes.

Sports can be watched by many individuals but those who are competitors in their own might may watch for the sake of study. They may find that there are some faults in their technique and they can work in order to make them better on their part. They can not only move and perform move faster but do so in ways that seem effortless to others who may not be as able. Wrestlers have done this in the past and I believe that their matches have been better because of it.

That being said, is it possible that adventure racing can find itself coming onto television as well? I can only imagine just how great this would be on all parties which would be involved on the matter. First off, it would be able to grant such names as Spartan Race even more visibility since many individuals would watch. In addition, it could help those who are competing gain attention as well, which can only bolster the reasons to go about competition of this caliber time and time again.

With so many participants in adventure racing in the past, how often has the subject of television come about? I think that these are some of the most exciting, not to mention adrenaline-pumping, sports in the world and it's hard for me to argue with such a sentiment. Shouldn't more people watch it, if this is the case? It's hard to predict whether or not it will be able to make its way to television but I'd like to think it possesses a great deal of heart.
