Easy Training Of Your Dog? Yes, It Is Possible!

Easy Training Of Your Dog? Yes, It Is Possible!

By Megan Smith

Your dog will have a happier life if you put it through dog training, and you will be happier too. When your dog is trained, both of you know what you can expect. Training your dog makes life less stressful as you will be able to leave him alone and know he will behave well with visitors or in public. It may take a lot of time, but in the end, your dog will prove to you that the training has been worth it.

When crate training a new puppy or dog, help the dog realize that the crate is its home. During meal time, place their food in the crate while allowing the door to remain open as they eat. This creates a positive association between good food and their new crate.

Make sure you remain controlled when rewarding your dog. When your dog responds to a command in the right way, you should reward this behavior when he is calm. Don't get too excited, though, as your excitement may cause them to break their concentration. Maintain a calm atmosphere and provide an appropriate reward.

As you begin training your dog, create a verbal cue that allows your pet to understand the exact moment that they correctly complete your command. If you do not have a treat you can reward your dog with, pet it and talk to it in a soft voice until you find a treat.

Training your pet to roll over very easy. Just remember to have treats in hand. First, make sure the dog is in a laying position. The next step is to hold a treat close to the floor by the dog's head then continue to move the treat over his head until you reach the other side. They'll follow your treat with their nose which will cause them to roll over. Upon seeing him roll over, issue the command. You can then repeat the command to the point where he rolls over without the added incentive of a treat. Be patient with him when you are teaching this because once he learns it, he can be quite the show-off amongst your friends.

Begin the dog training process with a simple task. This will give them instant success and serve as a building block for your training regimen. In doing so, you will see more consistent and positive results.

Dog training can help you set rules for your dog, so it understands the relationship. Once those rules are in place and followed consistently, your dog will have an easier time understanding its role and your needs. Do not forget to remind your dog of what he has learned. Maintain discipline and watch for any attitude changes. After you have laid the groundwork with your dog, the sky is the limit.
