An Overview Of Various Symptoms Of Liver Failure

Occurring in the stomach is the gastric ulcer that is a peptic ulcer. Gastric ulcers are raw open sores or areas that are created when hydrochloric acid (HCl) eats through the lining of the stomach. Some of these ulcers are attributed to long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) or a bacterial infection.

Endoscopy is a very successful procedure that can be done. While sedated, a flexible tube is inserted down your esophagus into the stomach and into the intestine to see if there are any lesions in these areas. A blood test can be done for determining if you h. pylori antibodies indicating you have had this bacterial infection. .You may need to provide a stool sample to see if h. pylori are there as well.

Ulcers on the other hand are much like an open sore in the stomach or small intestine. Because of this, they are frequently irritated by stomach acid. Ulcers actually feel better after eating because the pH of food is much more soothing than that of an empty stomach. This is completely different from heartburn as heartburn almost always peaks after eating.

Having gastric ulcers, people often experience other problems to include dizziness, headaches, and being light headed with feeling weak, fatigued, tired, and having pale skin. These ulcers can produce scarring tissue that blocks food from passing through the digestive tract. Frequent vomiting can occur and a feeling of fullness after eating only a small amount can happen. Feeling bloated after eating or having decreased appetites resulting in unplanned weight loss have been reported by some people.
