There are plenty of foods on the market that, even though they taste good, are very very bad for you. Sure you can easily recognize some things-most fast food, for example, while super tasty to eat, cause havoc on your internal system and add way too many calories to your fat stores. But what about each one of those foods that, on the exterior, look like wise choices? What about some of the meals you supply your kids? Keep reading to find out just what exactly a number of the worst things in the world are to feed to your family members (or yourself).



Just about one of the worst things in the world, which is kind of a surprise, is macaroni and cheese. The type you create at home by yourself using the boxes of Kraft or Annie's should be mostly okay but most of the time the macaroni and cheese you order from restaurants is not. To employ one important example: the macaroni and cheese dinner for kids from the California Pizza Kitchen is incredibly unhealthy. This one particular food item weighs in at more than a thousand calories, more than sixteen hundred milligrams of sodium and almost forty grams of saturated fat! No portion of that is really nutritious.

How many times do you buy those frozen pot pies from the grocery store's freezer section? On the outside these look like very good, healthy last minute dinners or lunches but the fact is that most of them are loaded with extra calories. The pot pies coming from Stouffer's, by way of example, usually contain more than eleven hundred calories, more than sixty grams of fat and almost eighteen hundred milligrams of sodium. If you are trying to lose weight you could find yourself eating all of your daily calories with just this one food item!

You probably think that a vegetarian sandwich has to be among the healthiest things you can order from a fast food place, right? The serious truth is that, since you will probably putting dressings and other condiments in this sandwich as well, they are usually just as unhealthy as a sandwich packed with meat. When you purchase a vegetarian sandwich from Blimpies (as an example), you will be buying nearly twelve hundred calories, sixty grams of fat and more than thirty five hundred milligrams of sodium. How in the world might that ever be healthy for you?

A salad has to be wholesome, right? That's precisely what most people think. If we want something that is healthy and fast, most of the time we look for a salad to fill us up with food that is healthy for us. You will likely be surprised to read, then, that there are some salads that are quite unhealthy. TGI Fridays's Santa Fe chopped salad, to apply one example, contains nearly eighteen hundred calories. This is usually because of the fact that it is the width of a big dinner plate but, seriously: do you want all of your daily calorie intake to come from a single dinner salad?

Sadly, the fact remains that the foods we buy from restaurants or when we are in a hurry is just not going to be as wholesome as the food that we cook for ourselves at home. Sure cooking food in your own home can be a pain or feel boring, but if you're watching your weight and trying to stay healthy, it is the best thing you can do for yourself!
