In different kinds of scenarios, dogs are known as man's best friend. Dogs are also known for their loyalty so it does not matter whether you have a small or a big dog on your house. There are tons of breeds of dogs in the world but among these breeds, Chihuahua is considered as one of the most popular and the cutest.

Just like any dog breeds in the world, Chihuahuas are also very brave and loyal to their owners despite being small in size. They can also be trained in different ways like other dog breeds and they can be fast learners compared to other dogs. But, before deciding to train your Chihuahua, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind beforehand. Below are some of the important tips that you need to know before you start training your Chihuahua.

Start with the Basic Rule

The basic rule is to make your dog think that you are the leader and this can be accomplished during the first 16 weeks of your dog. Always remember that if you are a buying a dog from a pet store, you need to ask about the age of the dog before you buy them. If the dog is more than 4 months old it is not a problem but if you are intended to train it, you better look for a younger one.

Rewarding

The main rule in your dog training is to give them rewards every time a task from you is completed. You have to be very strict on the rewarding especially if you want your Chihuahua to learn fast. Always be sure that you will not give rewards unless they accomplish your order and every time they accomplish something, do not forget the rewards for their deeds. When you do this, they will always look forward to learning new lessons from you.

Your Chi's Social Life

Always keep in mind that dogs also wanted to go outside so it is better if you will not confine them inside your house. You can also use this as an opportunity to teach them the proper behavior when outside the house. When the dogs feel that they are accepted on the family, they will not be hard to handle when training them so always take them for a walk or bring them on family outings.

Keep it Healthy

Your dog needs a lot of nutrients on their body and there are websites that can provide this information to you. You should not over feed your Chihuahua since it is bad for their health and you must not over feed them before the training because if they are already full, they will not be looking forward to the rewards.
