Rare Holidays Deserve No Less Than Flowers

Rare Holidays Deserve No Less Than Flowers

By Lizbeth Nathaniel

We always think about sending flowers to someone on their birthday and Mom always receives a bouquet for Mother's Day. In addition, we also typically give flowers for Valentine's Day, anniversaries and the arrival of a new baby. However, there are plenty of other fun occasions when giving flowers is both appropriate and a fun way to share a little love.

Amongst the list of fun yet unusual occasions was created by Hallmark card company founder in honor of friendship. Obviously it was known as Friendship Day or international Friendship Day and is celebrated on the first weekend of August. Having been around since 1919, this definitely comes appropriate for you to say "thank you" to a friend.

Apart from Father's Day and Mother's Day, grandparents have their own special occasion to celebrate too. On the first Sunday after Labor day, Grandparent's Day is being celebrated and surely Grandma or Grandpa would love to receive flowers or live plants on this occasion. Of course, sending flowers from a San Clemente florist should also be coupled with a phone call full of endearing words from you or maybe even a dinner out or in their home prepared by you.

One unique holiday that few Americans probably know about is Sweetest Day. This is celebrated only in the United States and this day is observed on the third Saturday of October every year. The first Sweetest Day was celebrate in 1921 and the purpose was to spend a day remembering the sick, the poor, the elderly and orphans as well as giving thanks to those who have been kind to us. For this day, send flowers to someone who has truly given you some support and love throughout the years or perhaps bring some large floral arrangements to a retirement or nursing home to make the home a bit more cheerful. In addition, consider making a donation to a food bank or homeless shelter or perhaps donating some of your time at one of these places.

So how about a spooky flower arrangement for someone who is quite fond of the Halloween? Online San Clemente flower shops which cater to needs for Halloween bouquets come abundantly where they feature Halloween colors or even arrange flowers in a pumpkin or a Jack-o-Lantern. Some also embellish it with decorations like spiders, bats or a witch's hat.

There are some friends of ours who are active in protecting the environment thus to give them something special on Earth Day or Arbor Day is but fit. Your friend will delight in a basket-full of live plants from your Oceanside flower shop because it's something that can be planted and enjoyed for several years.
