Great distances from home to work often lead to one stressful obligation - a long commute. Sad to say, as the distance increases the more time you will have to sit in the bus to get to home or work. This fate should be accepted should you be in a position to need money or really need to make a living.

One common thing that is brought about by long commutes for many people is the insufficient amount of sleep or bed rest. Having to spend time with your family requires enough hours at work, having to use the remaining time for sleep is no longer easy if you still have to deal with a long commuting hours.

This is something that one will have to endure unless he or she can find a job that is closer to home or own a vehicle that can break the speed limit. The best thing that you can do in such a situation is to rest your body and body while also trying to keep everything active. So how exactly would you keep yourself busy during a long commute?

Book reading is among the top things that people usually do when trying to buy time during long commutes. By reading books, magazines or journals, you will be able to keep you distracted and can also gain new knowledge. At the end of your reading, you'd be surprised you're already at the bus stop.

Playing games on your phone or gadget can also be a fun and interesting way to deal with long commutes. There maybe those who do not appreciate games played over devices however doing this can be beneficial for you if you're looking for something fun to do in a bus ride home after work. Want to make money on the time you are on the long commute? Try writing an article - you can do this either through a pen and paper or through a laptop. The mind is usually more creative when the body is idle or when you are just sitting. In this case, writing an article would be the perfect thing. Write or blog about your experience at work, how to make a long commute more fun and more profitable and others. Writing is not only a great way to do something worth while but it also opens doors to profits.

Although many would not venture for this last tip, it is recommended that one should practice his or her social skills. As you take that long commute, you can also talk to your fellow passengers. There would be those that would simply ignore this tip as they are less confident about themselves and their skills. All you need is a bit of confidence to initiate a conversation. Of course, you will need to ensure that the topic is meaningful as well as interesting to draw the attention of your listener. Likewise, be sure to check first that the person you are looking to talk to is approachable.
