Why The American Jury System Review Is Necessary

Why The American Jury System Review Is Necessary

By Ida Dorsey

The judicial system has been widely discussed in virtually all social media platforms as well as the televisions and radios, the reason behind this up rise is attributed to the rising crime rate and the fact that the criminals are let to walk scot-free. The law is known to be firm and it is rarely altered thus many individuals are getting out on mere technicalities and the blame is heaped on the juries. The American jury system review has been adopted to make some changes and improvements on some of the laws that are no longer applicable and also concur with the changing times.

Some bills like the crime bill is meant to curb the increase rate of burglary and murder that is being experienced all over the country, the bill will add more powers to the police as well as be more tough when it comes to the punishment of the crimes. Some of the laws have been questioned over the years since they did not conform to the recent times thus they ought to be reviewed and reconfigured.

Some part of the government feels that the review process is not logical since the acquirement of a new legal system is virtually impossible, this might be absolutely true but the legal system can be amended to work better. Gangs and other affiliations are making citizens to shy away from juries from the fear of retribution.

The law should be very specific on the punishment that is given not giving in ranges which from a laymans stand point is very absurd, more so plea bargain and parole make mockery of the punishments. The distinct line between law and justice is not noticeable anymore, judgement is nowadays passed without the aspect of fairness and equality but rather who is more influential and well spoken.

Justice can be administered, discussed and conveyed easily via the internet thanks to the new technology, crucial information can be obtained as quickly as it is needed. Every individual can get the information easily since the internet offers a wide platform for all kinds of resources.

New crimes like cyber crimes and the heavy dependency of computers has made the administration of justice in some aspects literally impossible, on the bright side the evidence present in court can be animated for the jury to decipher more easily. The judgement made can be translated to words that everyone can understand so that no one is left out.

Some methods and laws that are used in the administration of justice are considered archaic a fact that makes the review process a necessity rather than a luxury. The ways that were used in the last century cannot be applicable entirely in this new century since a lot of aspects concerning law has changed hence the review process should be welcomed rather than being termed as a selfish and one side agenda.

Since change is inevitable in every aspect of life some ways of doing things should also be altered in order in conform with the changes. One of the most crucial aspects of life is the law and thus it should be very dynamic in order to ensure that law and order is maintained.
