Some Business Travel Tips

Some Business Travel Tips

By Poppy Hill

When travelling on a business trip there are a few differences from when you would travel with your family. The first tip would be to just travel with one case which you can carry on the plane with you each time you make your way to the airport. This is the best way to go as you do not have time to sort through claims for lost luggage and lost time spent on filling out claims. When you first start to travel purchase two suitcases which are of good quality meaning you will always have one spare if anything happens to the other.

A good saving tip is to stock up on little pieces of toiletries which you can buy from the local shops. You can stock up on their buy one get one free offers which always seems to be in abundance these days. By spliting your items into both cases equally this means that at any one time you are ready to go as your case will be already packed saving you time and also money not needing to purchase last minute items for your trip.

You might think women have a business trip a little bit easier than a man as they can pack different items to smarten up their suits such as adding a nice piece of jewellery or perhaps adding a dressy scarf any of this can be a delight to your wardrobe.

Plane is the transport mode which all business owners would prefer to use when travelling to their meeting. You can also work while you travel on a train if your journey is less than 3 hours away from your meeting point. This will have the added advantage of being able to work while on the road rather than missing out travelling to airports where the networks are in short supply .

Think about travelling by air can be a bit of a miss match as your check-in time to the airline is normally 2 hour or 3 hours before take off not forgetting all the standing around in security lines, Just add up all the time differences to see which one suits your journey best.

Hotels which offer business travellers the niche of high speed internet and office equipment are often best to stay in as they will cater for your business needs as opposed to a small family run hotel which might not be up to your expectations. There are always review sites or other business travellers which can help you out when trying a new city.

Make sure you have mobile phone connection if you land in a new country. Checking with your cell phone supplier is always a good idea before travel as you do not want to be left high and dry with no one to contact back home.

  1. I also recommend exploring corporate housing options. Since my field of work requires me to travel from my company's location on the Northeast to its corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, I decided to stay in corporate housing while I'm down there. My stay in Charlotte corporate housing helps the business cut down costs tremendously on travel expenses.
