Back pain is very common. Most people will suffer with it at some point in their lifetime. It is one of the most common reasons people visit their doctor. Back pain can come on because of a sudden injury, but more often it results from poor lifestyle habits. These might include bad posture or poor eating habits. Simple strategies can be very effective at both treating and preventing back pain. Here are a few suggestions.

Mother's suggestions to not slouch and sit up straight are good tips. It's best to sit upright with the hips and knees at ninety degrees. It is also crucial to avoid forward head posture to prevent strain around the neck and shoulders. It is important to keep good posture though standing and lying down aswell. The average person spends about a third of their life sleeping.

Eat healthy and sustain maintain a healthy weight. Placing on further pounds by consuming excessive calories makes its toll on the spine. The additional weight causes strain on the back which leads to back pain. It's important to stay within ten pounds of one's ideal weight to stop back discomfort. Smoking should also be avoided. Research shows that smoking limits the flow of blood and nutrients to the discs within the spine.

Be more active to avoid back pain. People often think lots of rest is the way to deal with back pain when the exact opposite is what they need. A day of rest may be needed at times, but too much rest may be more hurtful rather than helpful. Studies have demonstrated that regular exercise helps to strengthen the core to stabilize the back and helps to reduce inflammation.

Avoid high heels. Wearing high heeled shoes puts strain around the low back and pelvis. When you have to put on them, it's a fantastic notion to bring a different pair of footwear to slip into in the event you become uncomfortable with the higher heels. This way you could limit the amount of time you wear the higher heels.

Watch the wallet. Sitting on a thick wallet results in back complications. Any time you sit on the wallet, it causes uneven stress on one side of the pelvis causing it to torque. This can result in chronic back pain with time. To prevent these challenges, it is best to take the wallet out of the pocket when sitting or move it to the front pocket as an alternative. These are just a few suggestions which are helpful to manage and treat back pain.
